The Top 13 Frequently Asked Questions Before a Boudoir Shoot
My boudoir studio has served over 1,500 women.
We have done thousands of consults and many clients ask similar questions. I figured I would compile a blog post of the top 13 questions we get asked!
1. Where is your studio located?
We are located in Historic Old Town, Auburn, CA and we also have a location in Southern CA in La Jolla in San Diego. We do travel for sessions too though, including beach week every year and destinations including the East Coast, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, we sold out Destination: Greece and then C0v!d.
2. Should I arrive early to my shoot?
We ask that you don’t arrive more than 10 minutes early for your session because we could have other clients in the studio and we want to respect everyone’s privacy.
3. HOW MANY OUTFITS SHOULD I BRING?
For your session you get 3 outfit changes. We ask that you bring pieces that fit and you are comfortable in but we do have a MASSIVE lingerie closet you can use to mix and match pieces for your session. We also have heels in various sizes, styles, and colors. As well as accessories and jewelry you can use. Lingerie sizes in our closet range from XS-6X so we have something for everyone!!
Please bring a black, white, and nude thong to wear under our pieces.
4. I AM FREAKING OUT!!!!! HOW CAN I CALM MY NERVES?
Nerves are normal and part of the process! Trust me when I say a majority of the beauties you see in our photos came in with nerves too.. Some physically shaking! By the time you get out of hair and makeup you will already feel a little better and then 2 poses in you will forget you even arrived with nerves!
5. Do you offer digitals?
All of our collections include a digital gallery. You can also purchase off the al a carte and get as few as 20 digitals or as many as your full digital collection {or any amount in between!} We will email you a digital gallery link which will allow you to directly download the high-resolution photos.
6. What type of print or tangible products do you offer?
We offer a variety of luxury products. We usually recommend coming in and touching, holding, and physically seeing them before deciding what you want to do.
We do have luxury albums, canvas or metal wall arts, and digital galleries in every collection. Larger collections will include add-ons like a luxury magazine, a retro viewfinder, a calendar, a little black accordian book, and acrylic blocks.
We also have glass presentation boxes with prints in them and SO MANY different types of finishes for our luxury albums.
7. Where should I buy outfits?
I am going to mention some local stores as well as some online options. I will try to update this list as we find new favorite brands! Macy’s, Nordstrom, Victoria’s Secret, Thistle & Spire, Yandy, Torrid, Adore Me, Forever 21, Target, and surprisingly Amazon!
8. Do you photoshop my images?
Yes and no… Yes, we do color edits and remove bruises and pimples. We don’t do extensive edits that make you not look like you though. I know some people are looking for super high magazine style edits and that is NOT what we provide with our experience.
We want to help you find your self-love and confidence and know that you are perfect exactly as you are!!!! ALL BODIES ARE BEAUTIFUL!!! We do provide a high-end luxury experience and products though, so just know that our level editing is just perfect!
9. Is hair and makeup included?
Yes, professional hair and makeup is included with all of our boudoir shoots… it is part of the experience! We let you choose the look. You can either glam up or keep it natural and fake lashes are included!
10. Do you have payment plans?
Yes! We offer split payments on the creation fee as well as payment plans on our products. Many clients pay in full, and many others utilize the payment plan. You can prepay for a collection or you can set up a prepayment plan. Please let us know if this is something you want to do!
11. Do I have to wear lingerie?
No! You can wear anything that makes you feel empowered, beautiful, and confident! We do have wings and other accessories you are more than welcome to use too! If you choose to wear nothing at all that is an option too! I will do another post on outfit ideas and inspiration! {We have this in our welcome guide email!}
12. Do you share my images?
Not unless you sign a model release and give us permission to do so. Privacy is so important and a major part of our experience. We shoot high profile clients including celebrities, doctors, lawyers, teachers, cops, etc. who prefer to not share their photos publicly and that is 100% fine!! Your nudes are safe with us :) Truly!!
13. What if I don’t like any of the photos?
I can’t even count how many times we have heard this. Don’t do that to yourself!!!! You are beautiful and we will show you that! You will for sure like AT LEAST one photo! Read the testimonials on our website, many people couldn’t believe how hard it ended up being to narrow down their photos after all! But ultimately you are NEVER pressured to purchase. We want this to be a special happy memory and we only want you to purchase images and products you love!
